Preparing a quiz or lesson

What kinds of questions am I able to create?
  • Multiple choice (with up to 8 possible answers)
  • True and false
  • Yes or no
  • Numeric questions.
Can I include graphics with questions? What type of graphics does CPS support?
Yes. The CPS software supports the graphics standards .jpeg, .gif and .bmp.

Can I share questions or lessons with other teachers?
If the CPS question database(s) can be saved in a shared location so anyone can use them.

How many different lessons/questions can I have in one database?
There is no limit. You can create as many lessons/questions as you need.

How many classes or rosters can I have in my CPS system?
There is no limit on the number of rosters you have.

I have a student with a disability. What accommodation(s) should I make?
Depending on a student(s) needs, a variety of accommodations can be made.

  • A lesson or quiz can be printed out and the student(s) can complete it as they would in a situation not utilizing the clickers (e.g. in class, at Student Academic Services, etc...). The lesson/quiz will then need to be graded manually.
  • If you are only displaying questions on the screen, consider printing the questions for your SAS student.
  • Read the questions and corresponding answers verbally to the class.
  • Allow students to work with a partner in non-confidential situations.
  • Consult Student Academic Services to see what suggestions they may have for your student(s).


Taking attendance

Can I take attendance using the clickers?
Yes. You can set up CPS to take attendance with the click of a button by each student.



Grading and reporting

Can I use CPS to grade my tests?
Yes. Using the student-paced assessment feature, an instructor can deliver a single or multiple test simultaneously. Student can advance through the test at their own pace. After the session is ended, the grades are immediately compiled and scored.



Hardware/Software

Can I have the CPS software on my computer at home?
eInstruction encourages teachers to install CPS on their home computer to create lessons or questions from home. You can download the most recent version of the software from eInstruction.

How far away from the receiver can students sit from the receiver?
The range on the pads is upwards to 80 feet, however, it is optimal from a performance standpoint to stay within 35-40 feet.

How long will the batteries last?
With typical usage, the batteries should last 1-2 years.

What technical support is available with CPS?
eInstruction offers live text chat and phone support from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST, Monday - Friday.
