Important dates (2011-2012)

August 2011

31	Residence Halls open for first year students after 9:00am, Quest orientation program begins this evening

 

September 2011

2	Upperclassmen may move into residence halls at 9:00am- meal plans begin with lunch
6	Classes begin 8:00am
10	Chaos Day and Mud Bowl
12	Last day for students to change their meal plans for the fall semester

 

October 2011

24	Second-half semester courses begin

 

November 2011

23	Thanksgiving break begins at 10:00pm. Residence halls remain open during break
28	Classes resume at 8:00am

 

December 2011

9	Classes end at 10:00pm
12	Exams begin at 9:00am
16	Students should leave the halls the day of their last exam or the next morning. (For questions or special circumstances, contact your Resident Director)
16	Exams end and Christmas vacation begins at 10:00pm
17	Residence Halls close at 10:00am for students with Friday exams or special permission only. Due to staffing and security issues, this is the LATEST that the halls will remain open. Transitional Housing for special circumstances should be arranged by contacting the student's Resident Director or the Calvin Housing Office.

 

January 2012

3	Halls re-open for interim
4	Interim begins 8 a.m.
5	Last day to add interim courses
24	Interim ends 5 p.m.
30	Spring Semester classes begin 8 a.m.

 

February 2012

1	Spring Semester Convocation (modified opening day class schedule)
3	Last day to add full and first-half semester courses

 

March 2012

16	Spring break begins 5 p.m.
17	Residence halls close for spring break at 10:00am
25	Residence halls reopen at noon. Contact Resident Director for special circumstances.
26	Classes resume at 8am

April 2012

6	Good Friday no classes scheduled

 

May 2012

1	Housing Applications due for new students for Fall of 2012 - Priority Housing Deadline
9	Classes end at 10:00pm
10	Reading Recess
11	Exams begin 9 a.m.
16	Exams end 10 p.m.
11-17	Students must check-out of the halls the day of their last exam or the next morning. (For questions or special circumstances, contact your Resident Director)
17	Residence halls close at 10:00am, for people with Wednesday exams or special permission only. Due to staffing and security issues, this is the LATEST that the halls will remain open. Transitional Housing for special circumstances should be arranged by contacting the student's Resident Director or the Calvin Housing Office.
17-21	Transitional Housing available for summer residents or special circumstances
21	Knollcrest East Apartments open for summer residents
