2003 Faith and Learning Award Luncheon*

The 2003 Faith and Learning Award will be presented to Mrs. Ervina Boevé,
Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences, emerita. Professor Boevé
has been a trailblazer in the areas of theater and drama, both at Calvin
and within the larger Christian community and is also remembered for her
heart for students. Former students and colleagues of the CAS Department
are especially encouraged to join us.
Education Department Reunion Luncheon*

Alumni
of the Education Department, teachers and non-teachers alike, are invited
to the fourth annual Education Alumni Luncheon. Dr. Bruce Hekman
'64, director of Calvin's graduate program in educational leadership,
will speak on "Classrooms as Communities of Grace."
Dr. Hekman has served for many years as an administrator at schools around
the world, including the last eight years for Kalamazoo Christian Schools.
In his presentation, Dr. Hekman will outline ways that teachers can demonstrate
God's grace in their relationships with students, parents and fellow teachers.
Kindergarten teacher Jill Huizinga Boersma '01 and high
school teacher Tim Blamer '00 will join the conversation,
sharing practical ways they show God's grace in their classrooms. Do join
us for this time of fellowship with fellow teachers, former classmates

Calvin Alumni Physicians*

Join fellow physicians for lunch and fellowship at the new Prince Conference
Center. Our special guest will be Dr. Steven Wiersma '83 who will also
speak at 1:30 p.m. on "Notes from a Disease Detective."
Homecoming Candlelight Dinner *

The 2003 Outstanding Service Awards, presented to those who have given
tremendous service to Calvin College, will be presented to Jane Brasser
'82 for years of leadership in the Southeast Wisconsin Alumni Chapter;
and to Dr. Wally Bratt '55 for giving much time in retirement to Calvin
speaking, editing and working with the Calvin Academy of Lifelong Learning.
Dinner will draw to a close by 7:45 p.m. so that those who would like
to attend the Calvin Maroon and Gold All Star Variety Hour may do so.
