Travel Health Services

If you are a Calvin student, faculty or staff member participating in an off-campus program abroad, or just traveling abroad on your own, health services can ensure you have the vaccinations you need for your trip.

Do Your Research

Find out what vaccinations you will need for travel to a particular area of the world at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Once you know what vaccines you need, check out our list of vaccines for which are available in health services.

Schedule An Appointment

Schedule an appointment with our travel office as soon as your trip is confirmed to allow adequate time to complete any series of immunizations (about four to six weeks before your trip).

At your appointment, a nurse will discuss required and recommended immunizations for your trip. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions about travel safety, common medications, etc. Travel consultations will take approximately 30 minutes.

Entire payment is expected at time of service (cash, check, or misc. account). We will provide you with a detailed receipt to be submitted to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. We can not guarantee reimbursement in part or full. Please verify your insurance coverage prior to your appointment.

Complete the Travel Module

Current Travel Health Module

If you are traveling abroad with a Calvin-sponsored program, make sure to complete the travel health module. Important information regarding your travel is covered in this presentation. At the end of the presentation, you will be asked to complete and submit an Acknowledgment of Completion form. Once submitted, you will receive an e-mail detailing how to make your appointment and additional paperwork pertinent to your trip.

The presentation takes 10-15 minutes on average to complete. It will help you make the best use of your travel health visit, and help you learn how to protect yourself and make informed decisions. This presentation does not provide personalized recommendations (that's the purpose of your travel health visit).
