Welcome
— Quentin Schultze, Executive Director Dr. Quentin J. Schultze History and PurposeCalvin College launched the Gainey Institute for Faith and Communication in 2005 with a generous commitment from Harvey and Ereveene Gainey, who have partnered with the college to nurture well-educated, highly skilled, and deeply ethical Christian leaders who communicate faithfully in church and society. The Institute promotes the study, practice, and living of communication in the context of the Christian faith by partnering with individuals and organizations that share its goals. It serves primarily four groups:
Activities sponsored by the Institute include publications, conferences, workshops, credit and non-credit courses for professionals and students, fellowships, scholarships, and private (i.e., non-public) research and consultations. Please subscribe to our email list (privacy protected) for occasional notes about upcoming events and special funding, scholarship, and fellowship opportunities. Dr. Quentin J. Schultze serves as Executive Director of the Gainey Institute for Faith and Communication as well as the Arthur H. DeKruyter Chair in Faith and Communication at Calvin College. He speaks widely throughout North America, appears frequently on major broadcast media, is regularly quoted in leading publications, and has written many books, including An Essential Guide to Public Speaking: Serving Your Audience with Faith, Skill, and Virtue, The Suburban Church: Practical Advice for Authentic Ministry, and Here I Am: Now What on Earth Should I Be Doing?, which is dedicated to the Gainey family. |
