Steps to apply for financial aid - international students
Each family's situation will be individually assessed through a careful and confidential review of the international application for admission.
STEP 1 - FEBRUARY 1
Search and apply for endowed scholarships.
STEP 2 - APRIL 1
All forms are due to Calvin including:
STEP 3 - ONGOING
Informal review of all admissions and financial aid forms
- An informal review of eligibility is done once we receive all financial aid forms and supporting documents.
- E-mail and FAX are the preferred way for communication at this point in the review.
- After adequate information is received and reviewed, we will either move to the formal review or inform you that more information is required.
STEP 4 - ONGOING
Formal review
- The international admissions staff serves as an advocate for you to the Committee on Scholarships and Financial Aid. At this point, all FAX documents must be supported by originals or certified copies.)
- The committee will award scholarships and grants based on availability of funds and the award selection criteria established by Calvin College.
- You will be informed of your financial aid award. At this point, you will need to accept your awards and verify any additional funding required to meet the total costs for attending Calvin.
Formal acceptance to Calvin is granted when both your academic and financial credentials been reviewed and approved.
STEP 5 - JUNE 1
Accept your financial aid awards and submit your $2,000 enrollment deposit.
