Tricia Alley is a sophomore with interests in many areas, including art, music and photography. She is leaning toward a speech pathology major, while remaining open to other areas of study. She is thrilled about being a Worship Apprentice and the opportunities that will arise from it. Tricia hopes to use her creativity to introduce fresh elements into worship, and is grateful to be on the team.

Nick Baas is a junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who is studying Theology, Greek and Philosophy. He is looking forward to putting his voice and mind to use, serving in campus worship. In the future, he plans to attend seminary, serve in a church, and further study theology.

Ben Dykstra is a junior from Kalamazoo, Michigan, who is working on a Religion major and English minor. A multiple-instrument musician, he enjoys collaboration in worship planning and leading and has already learned a great deal as a worship leader at a church plant in Battle Creek. Ben is really excited about working with so many awesome and talented people on the team at Calvin.

Min Woo Heo is a senior from Korea, and has also lived in New Zealand. He is pursuing both Chinese/Asian Studies and History majors; he hopes to go to seminary, possibly to become a pastor. Minwoo sings, and plays guitar and drums, and is looking forward to leading people to God.

Meredith Keeley, from Holland, Michigan, is a senior Communications Rhetoric major, with concentrations in Psychology and Sociology. She is excited to learn more about leading worship, building on her experiences of playing viola and singing with her family back home and participating in chapels and LOFT at Calvin. She can’t wait to learn and grow this year as a WA

Jeff Li is a junior from Hong Kong, born in Boston. He is majoring in Worship, Music Theory & Composition, and Communications in Media Production. As a pianist, he led worship in his high school and church, as well as a major youth conference called “Ignite.” Jeff hopes to eventually work in music and media in a church and is consideringy going to seminary.

Peter Steen is a sophomore from Holland, Michigan, and is working on an English Major in Secondary Education. He is pumped to learn about different styles of worship and to lead worship with singing and playing guitar. Peter is ready to develop his spiritual gifts to serve God and the Calvin community.

Megan Tousley is a junior from Waupun, Wisconsin, pursuing an English major, with a Writing minor. She has had the opportunity to be involved in worship in her home church, and is thrilled to walk through this new door that God has opened in her life to be part of the Worship Apprentice team. Megan hopes to explore incorporating drama, art and music into worship services. She is thankful for God’s goodness and trusts that He will lead and guide the new team.

Micah VanderHill is a junior Biology major, from Big Rapids, Michigan. He is interested in Marine Biology and Youth Education, and has been involved in various worship events in his church and at Calvin. Another multi-instrument musician, Micah looks forward to being a Worship Apprentice and developing his musical and non-musical leadership skills in ministry.

Tracie VerMerris is a junior from Dorr, Michigan, where she was an active participant in her church. She is majoring in Music in Worship and Vocal Performance and has a passion for both music and worship. Tracie is excited to be part of the Worship Apprentice program to explore her gifts and interests and hopes this will be a valuable learning experience in worshiping God and serving a Christian community.
