Andrew Morton

A native of Auburn, Indiana, Andrew is a junior at Calvin and is pursuing a double-major in History and Spanish. He enjoys reading, hiking, theatre, music, spending time with friends, making cheesy home videos, and chatting about history with anyone who will listen. His chief passion, however, is deepening his understanding of and relationship with Jesus Christ; he looks forward to seeing the mind-blowing ways that God will work in the Calvin community this year and is excited about bonding with Boer-Bennink residents to grow together as a community of God-followers.

Mary Sheppard

Mary Sheppard is a Junior going for an English major with a possible Chinese minor. She likes to serve people and God and has a passion for Christian development and discipleship. Her interests are in writing, art, language, philosophy and music.

Bolt-Heyns Timmer

David Tan

Named for the man who was after God's own heart, David hopes that God will one day say the same of him. When not lost in the weird world that is his mind, he enjoys discussions of all sorts, board games, reading, and drinking tea. He is excited about how lives can change when God shows up.

Keisha Jordan

My name is Markeisha Jordan and I am a psychology major from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Since my time here at Calvin, I have been privileged to become a M.A.C (multicultural activities coordinator), the vice-president of the breakthrough gospel ministry (student organization), and an orientation leader.   I am truly over filled with joy to be serving as a Barnabas leader in the dorms.  I am so thankful to God that He has chosen me to be not only a mentor or a friend to the residents, but also the light.  I am looking forward to seeing how God is going to work in and through His people this year as He helps us to fulfill the plans He has for our lives.

Kate Oswald

Kate grew up in New Jersey, about 20 minutes outside NYC.  She took a year between high school and college to live in Mexico for some focused time learning about people, God, and life.  She has faith that God has brought her to Calvin, and now more specifically to the Barnabas team.  This past summer was spent working, playing, traveling, and designing a welcoming room in Heyns.  Come see her original coffee table.

Melissa Haegert

Melissa Haegert

I am a sophomore Physics major with a passion for God, astronomy, prayer, the Southwest, bible discussion, and other cultures. I grew up as a missionary kid in Africa, and have learned to look for the joy in the struggles of spiritual development in a growing community. I enjoy any deep discussion, particularly if it has to do with faith, religion, science, and the interplay between the three. I also love worshiping God at the observatory – come join me sometime!

Seth Kuiper

I am a Junior from El Paso Texas. I am studying for both a Spanish and a Geology major at Calvin College. Nature has always intrigued me whether it be hiking and viewing God's created splendor or having fun throwing snow balls in the winter. Throughout my life, one of my deepest desires is to see people grow in their personal relationship with Christ and being able to help them in any way that I am able.

Noordewier-Vander Werp

Matt Burns

Matthew is originally from Annapolis, Maryland where he grew up until coming to Grand Rapids in 2005.  Matt is beginning his third year at Calvin College, having transferred in after his freshman year at a community
college.  He is a communications major with hopes of one day attending seminary and studying to become some kind of pastor.  He likes Ice Hockey and fishing and the fall is his favorite season.  He looks forward to
serving the Calvin community and learning new things about himself through the Barnabas program.

Stacy Ladenburger

Stacy is a Junior from Midland, Michigan double majoring in Spanish and Rhetoric and Communications.  She is passionate about seeking justice, living in honest community, and loving people.  Stacy also loves traveling, theatre, photography, running, organic foods, and good conversation over coffee or tea.

Rooks-Van Dellen

Emily Hanna

Emily is a senior Theatre major at Calvin who enjoys reading, playing her music really loud and supporting random dance breaks from homework.  She knows the value of an open door and a friendly ear, and hopes to give back to the Calvin community a little that she has received.  Continuing to sound like a Calvin promotional bumper sticker she just wants to press into the love that God has shown her so deeply--no matter the indiscretion, praying that she can do the same for others as He has done for her.

Bryan Wallace

Bryan is somewhat consumed with Ultimate (Frisbee). He is a junior, a biology major, possibly pre-med, and a psychology minor. He enjoys deep conversations and getting to know people for who they are. He also enjoys camping, soccer, basketball, dodge ball, backpacking, skydiving, and many other random activities.

Schultze-Eldersveld

Colin Finch

Colin is a junior civil engineering major from Wheaton, IL. He likes soccer, frisbee, campfires, good conversations and people. He is looking forward to growing with everyone in Schultze Eldersveld during the upcoming year through all of the challenges and blessings that God has in store.

Lauren Apicella

My name is Lauren Apicella and I am from Naperville, IL. I am a senior history major with an international development studies minor. I am so excited to be serving as SE Barnabas and am thrilled to see how God will use our dorm to serve Him. I enjoy drinking Latin American coffee, discovering new musical artists, and decompressing with an episode of Seinfeld.

Knollcrest East

Josh Kuipers

Josh is from beautiful British Columbia, Canada.  His major is undeclared but he wants to study GOD, PEOPLE, and POVERTY.  He has a broken heart for the marginalized and oppressed around the world.  It excites him to see people radically live out their faith, and dig deep into Scripture.  On a lighter note he loves most sports, NHL playoffs (playoff beards!!!), BBQ's, and just sharing life and laughter with anyone.

Nate DeHaan

Nate is Junior Biology Education major from Byron Center, MI. He is on the cross country and track teams for Calvin and enjoys pretty much anything involving the great outdoors. Favorites include hiking, camping, running, water sports, goofing around, reading, and long talks about life, love and happiness. Overall he is really excited about meeting new people and growing in Christian community with them.

Kara Shin

Kara is a TCK (third-culture kid aka no home) with a passion and curiosity for people and God (explanation for the psychology and religion majors). She wants to be the kind of Barnabas one goes to talk with, pray with, scheme with, grow with, cry with, laugh with, eat and play with, so please (please!) come and share yourself. Her door will be (figuratively) open for you.

Hannah Ringelberg

Hannah is a junior from Clare, Michigan. Majoring in Special Education. She loves spending time with friends and family. She also loves new experiences, new places, and new people. Hannah is excited to live the new adventures God has in store for her.

Alliance House

Sam Ehlert

Hailing from Rockford Michigan, Samantha (or Sam) is majoring in Rhetoric Communications with a minor in youth ministry. She plays on the varsity softball team at Calvin and loves sports. Besides softball, she enjoys slalom water-skiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, writing, singing, and deep conversations.
