What's in a name?
What do you call a website that encompasses everything from the chapel schedule and student's ideas about spiritual development, dialogue among faculty concerning the integration of faith and learning to programs such as "Discipling Athletes"? This is a question we spent a long time debating, but in the end, we chose the word "faith" for one simple reason: As the broad scope of this website shows, faith is foundational to everything we do. And here at Calvin, we express that faith not only through leading worship or attending Bible studies or praying for the needs of our community, but also through our work in the classroom and in the library and in our offices. As such, we are people who are ever seeking to exercise and strengthen the faith God has given us, much like you would exercise a muscle in order to strengthen it. It is our hope, therefore, that the resources you find on this website will help fortify your trust in the author and perfecter of our faith, Jesus Christ.

Who are we?
Here's a brief answer:

1. We are people who are deeply loved by God, so much so that he loved us before we could ever have loved him. In this, we find our truest identity.
2. Because of this, we are people who are passionately committed to loving, knowing and obeying God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. Because of this, we are devoted to serving God by serving his people, especially those within the Calvin community. We do this in a number of specific ways, but in broad terms, by offering opportunities to worship God, serve others, grow through the means of grace, and fellowship with other members of his diverse body.
4. We also seek to be outward-facing in our disciple-making and understand that each one of us—faculty, student or staff—is called to be an ambassador of Christ in and by all that we do.
