Joel Altena
Joel Altena is a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who is studying Music in Worship and Architecture at Calvin. He loves leading and planning worship and has been doing so since middle school. Joel is interested in exploring different styles of worship and learning new ways to lead God’s people in worship. He is excited to become a spiritual leader on campus to interact on a deeper level and create genuine friendships with students at Calvin. He is excited about the contribution he will be able to give to the Calvin community.He hopes to interact with God’s world in a different way than culture tells us to live and to serve God’s kingdom wherever he is called, whether that be within the church, or whether that is on a sidewalk praying with a homeless person. |

Jocelyn Brame
Jocelyn Brame is a sophomore from Libertyville, Illinois. She is majoring in Classical Languages, with minors in religion and Music in Worship. At her home church, she sang in youth choirs and also served on a worship team, leading services. Although she has no definite plans for her future beyond Calvin, she is considering seminary. She is grateful for this wonderful WA-pportunity to serve the Calvin community and to explore her possible call to ministry. |

Allie BuellAllie Buell is a sophomore from Northbrook, Illinois who is majoring in nursing. She has been involved in multiple choirs throughout her life and hopes to continue singing at any opportunity she can get. Allie is on Multicultural Student Advisory Board and is serving as a Multicultural Activities Coordinator in her dorm this year. She hopes to let this passion for multicultural acceptance and celebration shape how she leads worship at Calvin in order to honor God by bringing others together. Although she does not plan to pursue music and worship as a career after college, she is very excited to serve the Calvin community and see how God will shape her heart and mind through her experience as a Worship Apprentice. |

Kyung Min HwangKyung Min Hwang (or Kyung for short) is a sophomore Nursing student at Calvin. She lived in Korea until she was eleven and then moved to India where she has been living until now. She is passionate about music and exploring various musical instruments. She has been playing the piano and violin since childhood, although her primary instrument is piano. Kyung is very excited about serving as a Worship Apprentice and hopes to grow in faith and spirit through the program. |

Tyler RobbertTyler Robbert is a junior from Portage, Michigan majoring in Religion and minoring in Youth Ministry. He has participated in his church's music ministry since freshman year of high school and has been making and enjoying music all his life. He specifically enjoys singing, playing guitar, and occasionally the saxophone in addition to planning worship services. He looks forward this year to growing in his worship experiences and experimenting with new and different worship mediums. Eventually, Tyler would like to work as a youth director in the CRC, but hopes to remain an active participant and leader in the worship setting. |

Christian Balcer
Christian Balcer is a sophomore from Hudsonville, Michigan. He is currently undecided about a major but is exploring options within business and communications. He has been a member of his home church’s praise team since eighth grade and has sung in school choirs for many years. At Calvin, he spent his freshman year singing with Capella. He is an avid sports and music fan. In his free time, he likes to be physically active and referee youth soccer. He is grateful for the opportunity to plan and lead worship at Calvin. He is excited to continue to explore possibilities for a major and serve the Calvin community in his capacity as a Worship Apprentice. |
