Discipleship - Mentoring - Information for Students

Receiving a mentor:
If you think you could benefit from a new perspective and are interested in building a relationship with someone a little further along in life, it may be time to get a mentor!
Upperclassmen are generally paired with staff, faculty, or alumni, while freshmen also have the option to meet with an upperclass student.
To be matched with a mentor, you may fill out a Student Profile and return it to the Mentoring Office (mentoring@calvin.edu or Commons Annex 150). The Mentoring Coordinator will use this information to help pair you with a mentor.
Once you receive a mentor, you commit to meeting regularly. You'll be responsible for setting up your initial meeting, where you will discuss your goals and expectations for the relationship. The Mentoring Office can provide resources including discussion booklets or a list of books for discussion to help you get off to a great start as you share your stories. We also host events for those involved with the mentoring program, including a training workshop in the fall and early spring.
You can even apply for a Mentoring Scholarship for the next school year.
If you have further questions, feel free to set up a meeting with Mentoring Coordinator, Lisa Jousma.
