| Discipleship - Mentoring - Information for Mentors | |||
Mentoring is the opportunity to make a profound impact on the life of a student. All it takes is a willingness to pray for the student, listen, encourage, and share the story of God's faithfulness in your own life. Most find mentoring to be a rewarding experience, as our students are eager to grow, learn, and pray for you as well. You'll start out by commiting to meet a minimum of six times. The Mentoring Office will provide resources to help guide your conversations, and will also host events, including a mentoring training. We also have a list of books on mentoring, as well as list of books for discussion with your student, if that is something you'd be interested in doing. We are continually recruiting mentors so that more of our students can benefit from a mentoring relationship. Mentors can be staff, faculty, alumni, or simply friends of Calvin College. We are so thankful for each mentor involved in our program! If you are interested in becoming a mentor to a Calvin student, please submit a mentor profile to Commons Annex 142 or mentoring@calvin.edu. |
