Aaron Winkle is the Associate Chaplain for Upperclass Students. As associate chaplain Aaron oversees the campus-wide Bible study, provides pastoral care for hurting students, and meets regularly with students to discuss issues of faith/doubt, sexuality, relationships, and vocation. In addition, his responsibilities also include teaching First-year Seminar, directing the annual Gainey Leadership Retreat for student-athletes, and serving as an advisor to the student activities office, the sexuality series, and to SAGA (sexuality and gender awareness).
Aaron graduated from Calvin College in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Following graduation he and his wife Betsy moved to Denmark where Aaron played professional basketball. After returning from Europe, Aaron began pursuing his Master of Divinity at Calvin Seminary and graduated in May of 2009.
Aaron is married to his wife Betsy and they have four children—Quincy, Annie, Jackson and Nala.
