Rules and policies applying to intramural 3 vs. 3 basketball teams and players.
The basic rules are those set forth in the NCAA basketball rule book.
Teams are responsible for keeping score of the game. Players are also responsible for calling their own fouls.
Made shots inside the 3-point line scores 1 point. Made shots outside the 3-point line scores 2 points.
Length of game
Games consist of two 20 minute halves with a two minute half time. If there is a tie at the end of regulation, a rock/paper/scissors be the team captains will determine which team will start with the ball in the extra period. The team leading after a three minute period will be the winner.
In order to keep the game moving and to give the players more actual playing time we will not shoot foul shots. Fouls are called by the player who is fouled. The ball will be taken at the top of the key by the team which is fouled.
All players must be eligible players listed on your roster sheet. A team must have 3 players on the floor at all times. Substitutions can be made during checked balls or after a made shot.
A jump ball situation results in alternate possession of the ball.
After made shots
Ball is taken to the top of the key after change of possession or after a made basket. Defense checks the ball
