Parking for the Van Andel Arena is available adjacent to the arena in all directions. All parking lots and garages charge a nominal fee ranging from $6-$8. Please note that on Saturdays parking in metered parking spaces on downtown streets is free; parking in these spaces is on a first-come basis.

Handicap parking is located at the SW corner of the arena (Lot L on the map key for the Van Andel Arena parking map).

After parking please enter the arena at the main entrance on the north side of the building on West Fulton Street. Doors to the arena will open at 1:00 pm; the Commencement ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm. A Commencement ticket is required to enter the arena.

Concessions will not be available at the arena, though rose bouquets and other floral gifts will be available for purchase.

Following the ceremony the arena and surrounding area will be heavily congested with graduates and guests trying to locate each other. It is highly recommended that a location be established in advance where graduates and guests can meet outside of the arena.

Driving directions to the Van Andel Arena:

From Calvin College: Exit campus at the Lake Drive entrance and turn left (west) continuing until Lake Drive ends at East Fulton.  Turn left onto East Fulton; East Fulton will become West Fulton at Division Avenue. The Arena is on the left-hand (south) side of the road three blocks past Division.

From the North: Travel US-131 South. To access parking facilities north of Fulton use the Pearl Street Exit (85B). To access parking facilities south of Fulton us the Wealthy Street Exit (84A).

From the South: Travel US-131 North. To access parking facilities south of Fulton use the Franklin Street Exit (83B). To access parking facilities north of Fulton use the Pearl Street Exit (85B).

From the West: Travel I-96 East to US-131 South. To access parking facilities north of Fulton use the Pearl Street Exit (85B). To access parking facilities south of Fulton use the Wealthy Street Exit (84A).

From the East: Travel I-96 West to I-196 West. To access parking facilities north of Fulton use the Ottawa Street Exit (77C). Follow Ottawa until you reach Fulton.  To access parking facilities south of Fulton move to the left hand lane of I-196 West to merge on to US-131 South (Exit 77B). Use the Wealthy Street Exit (84A).
