Graduates: Senior Salute

Prepare for graduation at Senior Salute

There's more to commencement than just a cap and gown. Senior Salute will have all the necessary information regarding Commencement available at one time and in one place. This should take no more than 15-20 minutes.

Note: If you are on an off-campus program in spring 2009, or if you finished your requirements in December 2008, please give the registrar’s office your spring address. The Senior Salute information will be sent to you by the end of March. You may be measured for your cap and gown before you leave campus in December 2008 by stopping in to the Office of Conferences and Campus Events.

Degree Verification
This must be completed in order for you to graduate.

Cap & Gown Measurements
Willsie Incorporated will be on campus during Senior Salute to measure graduates for their cap and gown.

Federal Perkins Loan Info
If you have received a Perkins loan while a student at Calvin, you will need to sign up at Senior Salute for an exit interview. After Senior Salute, contact Jason Porte in the financial services office at (616) 526-6078.

Ticket Orders
Ticket order forms for the Commencement ceremony will be available at Senior Salute. Please check with your family regarding their preferences and needs. Be sure to note any guest who will be in a wheelchair, require special seating, or who will require other accommodations, including a sign language interpreter. Be sure to pick up the necessary order forms at Senior Salute because they will not be mailed later. (After Senior Salute, order forms can be picked up at the registrar's office and turned in by April 24).

Community Care Fund / Nyela Turaki Memorial Fund
While anyone can make a donation to these funds at any time, the Class of 2009 is encouraged to make a special gift in honor of their graduation—an opportunity for the class to unite in making a lasting contribution to Calvin's campus for the generations of students who will follow. The Community Care Fund and the Nyela Turaki Memorial Fund each provide financial support for students struggling with personal injuries or illnesses, the loss of a family member, financial hardships and other unexpected burdens. Make a pledge at Senior Salute, with payment any time in 2009.
