Pre-graduation deadlines

Fall 2011 • Apply for a degree
The only way to apply for a degree is through the portal (look for the "Apply for a Degree" heading).

Fall 2011 • Update your address (if off campus spring semester)
Studying off campus this spring? Finishing your classes in December? Be sure to give the registrar’s office your spring address; otherwise, your Senior Salute packet will be mailed to your parents’ address.

February 8-9, 2012 • Attend Senior Salute!
Library Lobby, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. each day
Note: Attending Senior Salute is required in order to participate in the Commencement ceremony (unless you are studying off campus for spring semester)

February 10, 2012 "100 Days to Graduation" celebration
3:30–5 p.m., Johnny's
This celebration for seniors only is hosted by the Alumni Association during uKnight week. There will be prizes and cash give-aways, including a $5 coupon for concessions for each senior.

April 2, 2012 Professor of the Year award nominations due
Submit to K4L (Knights for Life) at the alumni office, Youngsma Center

April 2, 2012 Immunization history requests due
Health Services can provide an up-to-date immunization record—something that comes in handy for graduate school applications, for certain job requirements, or for future medical history questions. To request this record, stop by Health Services or e-mail health@calvin.edu with your name, student ID number, local address, and phone number.

Spring Break to Exams • Community Care Fund
Leave a legacy; help a fellow student in a financial emergency by making your gift to the Community Care Fund.

April 18, 2012Honors Convocation
7:30 p.m., Covenant Fine Arts Center
Honors Convocation will be broadcast online for parents who are unable to attend.

April 13, 2012 • Commencement ticket order forms due
Box Office
These forms were provided at Senior Salute. Replacement forms are available at the box office. Ticket requests must include any requests for special seating (e.g. wheelchair access) or other accommodations (e.g. sign language interpretation) for you or your guests.

May 1-18, 2012 • Complete senior survey
In order to pick up your cap and gown, all grads must complete the senior survey. Instructions to complete the survey »

May 4, 2012 • On-campus housing reservations due
If your parents wish to stay in the residence halls, those reservations must be made via the box office by May 4.

May 7–18, 2012Commencement ticket pick-up
Graduates may pick up their Commencement ceremony ticket orders from the box office. Note: Student ID required.

May 11, 2012 • Parent Breakfast ticket orders due
If your parents wish to attend the Breakfast for Parents of Graduates, those orders are due to the box office by May 11.

May 17–18, 2012 • Cap and gown pick-up

May 19, 2012 • Zero Day: Senior Brunch celebration
Includes presentation of the Professor of the Year Award
9 a.m., Commons Dining Hall
Since there is no Commencement rehearsal, grads must attend the Zero Day senior brunch to receive instructions about where to line up and processional/recessional format. Students can also clarify pronunciation of their name with those who will be reading names during the ceremony.

May 19, 2012 • Commencement ceremony and reception
2 p.m., Van Noord Arena
Graduates must report for the processional line-up by 1:30 p.m. Overflow seating for family and friends will be in the Covenant Fine Arts Center and the Chapel. There will be a punch and cookie reception on the Commons Lawn following the ceremony.

May 19, 2012 by 5 p.m. • Commencement robe return
Graduates must return their robes to Hoogenboom Room 204 by 5 p.m. Grads may keep their cap and tassel.

October 1, 2012 • Student e-mail accounts close
