The $50 million Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex, finished in 2009, earned Calvin the No. 16 best athletic facilities ranking.

The ranking came from the Princeton Review’s annual list of the 377 best colleges. Rankings were determined based on surveys taken by students across the country.

The complex includes a 5,000-person arena, an Olympic-sized pool, and a 38-foot climbing wall.

“We have well-maintained outside facilities and an incredible new arena and workout pool that is probably not common on a Division III campus,” said Shirley Hoogstra, vice president of student life.
