ART/WORK - Presented by Tia Wierenga

May 24 - June 28, 2013

From May 24 to June 28, the Calvin College Department of Art and Art History is proud to present the work of Tia Wierenga in an exhibition entitled "ART/WORK" at the (106) South Division Gallery.

In her exhibition statement, Wierenga explains "I am a hunter/gatherer, constantly accumulating images and art objects manufactured by the occupation and culture that I immerse myself in on a daily basis.  For the last 10 years I have worked in the cargo shipping industry at the airport....I let the wall down and allowed my work to be my art while also entertaining the conception of art as work."
