Formative Process - ArtPrize 2012

ArtPrize is a "radically open competition" held in Grand Rapids, Michigan for two weeks each fall. This year the Calvin College (106) Gallery presents, Formative Process, an exhibition of seven contemporary artists that explore the process and production of art. The artists included in the exhibition come from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, and represent a wide variety of media in their artwork.

The artists are: Margery Amdur, Meghan Borland, Anca Gray, Cathe Hendrick, Zach Mory, Maureen Nollette and Jo-Ann Van Reeuwyk.

Juried Awards

In 2012, ArtPrize increased the number of juried awards and brought in five jurors to award Best Two-Dimensional Work, Best Three-Dimensional Work, Best Time-Based and Performance Work, Best Use of Urban Space and Best Venue. The Calvin College (106) Gallery was named by Tom Eccles, Director, the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College to the short list of Best Venue.
