From October 21 to November 19, 2011, the Calvin College (106) Gallery presents "Inherent," an exhibition of woodblock prints by Alicia Wierschke, a Kendall College of Art and Design MFA student. The work is composed of large, colorful woodblock prints with geometric and organic shapes - reflecting a deep interest in pattern.

She writes, "the innate repetition of the printmaking processes naturally lends itself well to creating the patterns of my work. The geometrically shaped wood blocks that I arrange and print multiple times on paper are very logical, structured and orderly. These shapes are the foundation and building blocks of the overall composition, the pieces of a complex puzzle."
