The Father and His Two Sons images of the Prodigal Son from the Larry and Mary Gerbens Collection

January 7 - February 7, 2009

From January 7 to February 7, the Center Art Gallery at Calvin College presents The Father and His Two Sons: images of the Prodigal Son from the Larry and Mary Gerbens Collection. During 2008-09, Larry and Mary Gerbens donated their collection of prodigal son artwork to their alma mater Calvin College. This exhibition arose as a way to commemorate their gift and share this unique collection with the community. The exhibition features artwork in a variety of media by 30 artists, including original works based on the prodigal son parable and additional works commissioned on the parable by the Gerbens.

The 2009 Calvin Symposium on Worship, from January 28-31, will also feature related programming, as the chosen worship theme is "And he told them a parable..."
