From August 28 to October 7 the Center Art Gallery presents Northern Lights: The Arctic Through Art, an exhibition featuring exquisite Inuit sculptures. More than an art exhibition, though, Northern Lights uses the art of this indigenous people as an instrument to look at our world. In addition to several fine sculptures, the exhibition contains elements to explain changes in the arctic and their potential impact on the planet. The central theme of the exhibition is not simply to present examples of Inuit art, but to avail the visitor of life in the north, cultural and environmental.
