Work: Curse or Calling
March 2 - April 28, 2012
Work: Curse or Calling? brings together 31 artists from across North America and invites them to picture "work" in its many applications of the Christian experience - work on the job, in the studio, in the church, in the field, in the home, and as portrayed in the pages of Scripture. This exhibition explores a wide range of responses to the initial "call for work" and offers viewers a meaningful encounter with a truly germaine topic: the meaning and purpose of work. Showcasing innovative approaches to materials and images, Work: Curse or Calling? should pique curiosity and spark dialogue.
This exhibition was juried by Joel Zwart, Director of Exhibitions at Calvin College, and organized by CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts).
