Our mission

Our mission is to provide quality counseling and therapy services in a relaxed and confidential setting within a Christian framework. We help students cope with difficult times and support personal, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Who seeks help?
Every year, hundreds of Calvin students come in to the Broene Counseling Center. They come with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, stress, eating disorders, substance abuse, and other life challenges. Statistics show that students feel understood by their counselors and are recommending others to Broene.
Eligibility and cost
Students who are currently enrolled in classes are eligible for our counseling services at no cost. While counseling is free, there will be a $15 charge for "no shows" to appointments which have not been canceled or rescheduled prior to the appointment.
Noteworthy
Sexual Assault Prevention Team
SAPT works to end rape, sexual assault, and harassment by educating for change in attitudes and behaviors and by equipping compassionate and knowledgeable responders.

Sexuality Awareness, Gender Acceptance
SAGA is a peer education group of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (LGBT) and straight students who support each other and educate the campus.
