About Us

Gaylen J. BykerCalvin’s Artist Series offers a variety of musical styles and talents with great appeal to our audiences. Our 2009-2010 season features one of the greatest organists in Europe bringing us improvisations on the Genevan Psalter to help commemorate the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin; the return of a popular early music group featuring Psalm settings; a dazzling afternoon of opera; a vital string trio; the Young Gilmore Artist for 2010; and Kevin Cole, piano in an all-Gershwin concert in partnership with the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. Yes, that’s six concerts – 6 for the price of our usual 5.

And, as you may know, Calvin’s Fine Arts Center is under renovation and so the Artist Series concerts will be held in the college Chapel, except for the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD event which will take place at Celebration Cinema North (map).

The difficult economic times in our country and especially in the State of Michigan make us even more grateful for the continued support and commitment of our season ticket holders, patrons and advertisers. We also are grateful to our state and regional arts advocacy organizations for their support of the Artist Series and its educational programs. I hope to see you at our concerts!
