Alumni financial support of the college is
vital to maintaining the academically excellent, Christian education Calvin
provides. The Calvin Development Office
offers a variety of giving programs.
You can also support the college as an "ambassador"
— contributing to admissions, career services, public relations,
and alumni efforts. Browse the list below for a variety of ways
to support Calvin! |
- Wear Calvin: Whether it's a t-shirt at the gym or a tie at the office,
sport the maroon and gold wherever you are. (The Campus
Store has a great selection and online ordering!)
- Register for KnightVision,
the online alumni community, and subscribe to calvin-wire,
an e-mail newsletter providing the latest news from the Knollcrest campus.
- Know a potential Calvin student? Submit an online referral
form.
- Attend your class reunion — and bring
a friend. If you're interested in serving on your reunion planning committee,
e-mail reunions@calvin.edu.
- Volunteer to be the Calvin representative at a college admissions
fair in your area as part of the Alumni
Admissions Support Network (AASN). Contact Noah Kruis (aasn@calvin.edu)
for details.
Be
an individual or corporate sponsor for the Alumni
Golf Tournament or Spring Classic
5k Race.
- Establish a named
scholarship for Calvin students—you choose the criteria. All
scholarship donors get to meet their scholarship recipients at the scholarship
dinner held each fall.
- Send your pastor and worship leaders to the Calvin
Symposium on Worship held each January on campus.
- Host a Calvin intern at
your company.
- Schedule a conference at the Prince
Conference Center.

- Contribute to your local alumni
chapter's scholarship program, and encourage students you know to
apply for these scholarships.
Find
a site in your area to view the Calvin vs. Hope
men's satellite game live on game day. You find the site; we'll
help with publicity and send a box of Calvin pompoms and other goodies.
- Become a member of CALL,
the Calvin Academy for Lifelong Learning, and participate in classes,
field trips, travelogues, and more. Non-alumni are welcome too. (You
must be at least 50 to join.)
- Run or walk in the Calvin 5k Spring Classic,
or encourage your kids to participate in the 1k
Family Fun Run. And be sure to show off your Spring Classic t-shirt,
too.
- Send your kids to one of the many summer
camps—music, sports, art, chemistry, languages, wetlands and
woodlands—held on campus each year.
- Invite a Calvin speaker to lead an adult education session at your
church—see the Resource
Guide (PDF file) for ideas.
- Recommend prospective faculty members for open
positions.
- Send a contribution to the Calvin
Annual Fund—your yearly gifts make a difference in the lives of Calvin
students today. Gifts may be designated for student services, capital
improvement/technology, research, financial aid, or left undesignated
for the area of greatest need.
- Submit a class note
to Spark or submit an update for an academic
department newsletter.
- Serve as a chapter leader
or contact person, coordinating Calvin events and programs in your
geographic area.
- Volunteer to host an admitted student reception at a local restaurant
your home for local students accepted to Calvin as part of the Alumni
Admissions Support Network (AASN). Contact Tasha Paul (aasn@calvin.edu)
for details.
- Post job openings for positions
at your company, or come and recruit on campus. Encourage your employer
to hire Calvin grads.
- Bring a group of prospective students to Fridays
at Calvin. Some alums bringing a larger group might qualify for
reimbursement under the Group
Visit Guidelines.

log. Also, pray for RAs, RDs, and Residence Life staff as they build
community among students.
Encourage
minority high school juniors and seniors to participate in the summer
Entrada Scholars Program.

Spoelhof Society by making a planned gift to the college.
- Work in journalism? Use the Calvin Experts
Guide as a reference when you need opinions on the latest issues
in the news.
- Pass your copy of Spark
along to a non-alum reader, place a copy in your office's lobby/waiting
room or leave it in a visible place where others will find it.
- Reconnect with a Calvin friend with whom you've lost touch. (Not sure
how to reach them? Check KnightVision
or e-mail alumni@calvin.edu.)
- Host a Calvin music ensemble
at your church, or host students overnight during their spring break
music tours.
- Plan ahead for a Calvin education — purchase a Calvin
tuition gift certificate for your kids or grandkids.
- Pray for Calvin faculty who balance teaching, research, advising,
family and church commitments.
- Share your opinions with us! Write a letter
to Spark, offer feedback
on our website, email us. Contact your local Alumni
Board representative.
- Encourage your local Christian or classical radio station to play
music by the Calvin Alumni
Choir or the Calvin Oratorio Society's annual performance of Handel's
"Messiah."
If you hear a Calvin ensemble on the radio, make sure to let the station
know you appreciate it!

them (emeriti only) for the Alumni Association's Faith and Learning
Award.

gift program.
