What is K4L?
K4L, or Knights for Life, started as the Student Alumni Relations
Committee (SARC) and later became the Student Alumni Association (SAA).
It was formed in 1986 as a student organization designed to benefit the
students enrolled at Calvin and to help build lasting bonds between students,
faculty, and alumni of Calvin College.
Members of K4L share their pride, enthusiasm, and commitment to promote
Calvin College and the committee functions under the direction of the
Calvin Alumni Association.
The primary goal of K4L is to strengthen the relationships between students
and alumni by educating students about their rights and responsibilities
upon graduation from Calvin and by increasing alumni awareness of Calvin
activities and events.
What are Student Alumni?
"Student Alumni" may seem like an oxymoron, but it really isn't.
Once you've completed two full-time semesters at Calvin, regardless of
where you go on to graduate, you are an alumnus or alumna of Calvin College.
What better time to start learning what it mean to be an alum than while
we are still here? K4L interacts with the Calvin Alumni Association throughout
the year, which gives K4L members a taste of Association membership and
a head start on Calvin networking.
The best part is that you can join K4L anytime during your college years.
You don't have to wait until you're a senior. Our programs are equal-opportunity
for all Knights, no matter what class year, what area of study, what type
of housing, or which dining hall you prefer.
What does K4L do?
K4L works year-round to create a sense of unity within classes as
well as creating unity as Calvin alumni. Along with support from the Alumni
Association, K4L is able to coordinate a number of community-building
events throughout the school-year:
The Student Guide to Grand Rapids - your
link to area churches, shops, activities, events and more!
Cokes
and Clubs - an event to showcase student organizations.
Knight Club

Homecoming
Homestretch

Mission statement
Knights for Life (K4L) exists to support Christ-centered education
through services to Calvin College, its students, alumni, and friends.
K4L seeks to serve current Calvin College students and to provide a link
between student life and alumni life, all the while stressing that both
students and alumni belong to the same "Calvin Community."
