Geography, Geology and Environmental Studies Reunion

November 15 & 16, 2013

Come home to Calvin for a special geography, geology and environmental studies reunion. During this two-day adventure, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Experience the beauty of Calvin’s new Dice Mineralogical Museum—a world-class collection of more than 300 rare and valuable specimens
  • Explore the gypsum mines and enjoy a tour of historical Grand Rapids
  • Network with alumni to exchange stories of how you’re making a difference
  • Discover how Calvin’s geography, geology and environmental studies program is impacting students today

7 p.m. Dessert reception at the new Dice Mineralogical Museum [map], a world-class collection of over 300 rare and valuable specimens

Saturday, November 16, 2013

11:00 a.m. Urban Geography and Geology field trip led by Henk Aay, Jason Van Horn and Gerry Van Kooten.

We’ll explore the gypsum mines, enjoy lunch and take a historical tour of Grand Rapids, returning to campus at approximately 3 p.m.   

*Please meet at the Spoelhof circle drive; boxed lunches will be available.

6:30 p.m. Strolling dinner at the Bunker Interpretive Center [map]
