Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there anything that I should bring?
Each singer will need to bring their own black folder.
- What is concert dress for the evening performance?
Black coat and pants, white shirt, and black long ties for men; black dress for women. Singers will have to bring them on hangers. These will be stored in their dressing rooms (Green Room, Recital Hall, Rehearsal Room).
- How should I dress for the activities during the day?
Please dress in casual attire and comfortable shoes.
- Are rehearsals open to the public and my family members who are not Capella members?
We are sorry but rehearsal time is limited and much has to be accomplished prior to the 8 p.m. performance. For such reason, rehearsals will not be open to the public or family members.
- Who will be conducting our performance?
The Capella conductor that you sang under while at Calvin will conduct your performance. Dr. Howard Slenk will conduct those who sang under Dr. Swets.
- Will there be any activities for my family members to take part in while I’m in rehearsals?
Family members can take a walking tour of the Calvin College campus and visit the Bunker Interpretive Center at Calvin. We will not be able to provide nursery for small children.
- Will I receive a copy of the music I will be singing prior to November 20th?
Once you have registered for the event, you will receive an email confirmation with PDFs of the music that your section will be singing. These PDFs have been marked by each conductor and are for study only. Feel free to bring your study copies with you on November 20 at which time you will receive a hard copy of the music for use during the 75th Capella Reunion.
