Did you know there are over 600 Calvin alumni in the Washington DC area? Local chapter volunteers (see the list over on the right...) have been talking with the alumni office about“re-inventing” the DC area alumni chapter. We’ve had great success with the Calvin-Hope satellite basketball game and other occasional events and now we’d like your input on how to build local Calvin alumni networks, support DC area students who want to attend Calvin, and generally raise the Calvin flag a little higher!
We’ll be in the your area on March 24 to have a “Calvin Summit” and invite you to join other Calvin alumni as we dialogue about Calvin's presence in the region. We’ll share Calvin news and stories and brainstorm ways to raise Calvin’s profile.

Dear Calvin Alumni in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia:

Thanks to your generosity last year, the DC/Baltimore Chapter of the Calvin Alumni Association awarded four scholarships to first-year students, averaging $1,000 per student!
Your generosity has positively impacted the lives of Timothy Bratt, George Vander Tuig and Stacy Van Dyk (all of Silver Spring, Md.), and Jessica Wybenga (Rockville, Md.). Through your support, we helped send these students to Calvin to not only challenge them academically, but also to place them in an environment conducive to becoming faithful followers of Christ.

Our goal for 2006 is to further increase the number of scholarships that we award to outstanding high school seniors from the DC/Baltimore area. As more and more high school seniors express interest in Calvin, we believe that we have an opportunity to send them to a college that will nurture them and reinforce the Christian principles in their lives. Please help us to continue to provide scholarships to young men and women by making your tax-deductible gift to the local chapter now. Also, the Calvin Alumni Association matches up to $2,500 in local contributions, making your gift even more valuable. If you would like to contribute, please make your checks payable to "DC Chapter Calvin Alumni Association" and send to:
Mark Pfundstein, Treasurer
119 8th Street SE #302
Washington, DC 20003

Your support again this year will encourage students in our area to attend Calvin.

Sincerely,

The DC/Baltimore Alumni Chapter Planning Committee
