Friday, May 30, 2008: Dr. Roy Anker to speak about Catching Light: The Search for God in the Movies

Prof. Anker will also be speaking in Langley, BC and Mercer Island, WA.

Please join us to hear Dr. Roy Anker, Professor of English at Calvin. Professor Anker specializes in the areas of writing, religion and film and is the author of Catching Light: The Search for God in the Movies. Thanks to an alumni grant, he will be going to the famous Cannes Film Festival in early May and can fill us in on that experience.

HURRICANE KATRINA: WHY IT HAPPENED

Professor Van Kooten will discuss the predisposing conditions that made the hurricane so devastating, including the loss of wetlands, land settling and destruction of the delta by canalization and levees.
