October 26 & 27, 2012 | River City Improv

Here are two chances to catch River City Improv, a team of creative Calvin grads who perform improvisational comedy. Join us on:

Friday, October 26, 2012 ~ 8 p.m.
Greenpoint Church
136 Milton Street in Brooklyn [map]

Everyone is invited to gather after the show at a nearby establishment to hang out. We'll have those details for you at the event. Help us spread the word to other Calvin alumni and friends; an e-mail (only) has gone out to alum who live/work in the city.

Saturday, October 27, 2012 ~ 7 p.m.
Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church
422 Cedar Hill Ave in Wyckoff [map]
RSVP to Roy Heerema

This is a great event for all ages. We'll get an update from the college, too.

For either event, there is no cost for admission, but a donation to the New Jersey/New York City scholarship fund, which benefits students from your area who plan to attend Calvin, is suggested. Support scholarships now »

Calvin alums in NYC:

Calvin alumna Rachel Zylstra will be releasing her latest full-length album, "Most of It Is True," at the "legendary cafe-turned nightclub," The Bitter End, in Greenwich Village. Hear her play this clever and intimate collection of songs from the album.

From her website: "Rachel captivates her audience, entwining rich, edgy, alto vocals with driving piano work." Listen to samples of her work.
