April 28, 2012 | Our Energy Future: Why It Matters
Historically, economic activity and energy consumption have been intimately linked: as economies grow, energy demand grows, too. But, what happens if energy supplies are constrained? Will economic activity become constrained, too? What impacts might this have on you, your family, your church, and Calvin College? How should we, as Reformed Christians, respond to these considerations?
Calvin engineering professor Matthew Kuperus Heun will share some results of his work within an emerging body of research on the interactions between economies and the energy that drives
them. Expect a discussion with many challenging questions and far
fewer answers.
