Grab a fresh brewed coffee from The Filter Café (1373 N. Milwaukee Ave.) and stop next door at Copenhagen Bike Shop (1375 N. Milwaukee Ave.; map) to connect for some Calvin conversation. Professor Lee Hardy will talk about his recent studies on the urban bike infrastructure of Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and his daughter Katrina ’05, an urban planner in one Chicago neighborhood, will share how these same ideas relate to the Windy City.

Be sure to bring your bike. The bike shop can help you with a tune-up or winterizing your cycle!

Calvin's men’s soccer team will travel to Dominican University in River Forest for the NCAA III Tournament first-round game vs. DePauw on Friday, November 9, at 1:30 p.m. The men's basketball team will be playing in tournaments in Wheaton (Nov. 30 and Dec. 1), and Elmhurst (Dec. 28 and 29). Go Knights!

Jazz Showcase with Alyce Claerbaut '69

A night at the Jazz Showcase of Chicago to meet Calvin alumna Alyce Claerbaut '69, a member of the Jazz Institute of Chicago who was named one of 2011’s “Chicagoans of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune for her work in the jazz circles in the city. She was also recently featured in the Spring Spark magazine.
