Calvin Around Town • DeVos and Prince Centers

November 2, 2002: The first Calvin Around Town event ever hosted on the Calvin campus was a look inside the wonderful new DeVos Communication and Prince Conference Centers. After tours and a few words about the buildings from President Gaylen Byker and Communication Professor Randy Bytwerk, the evening concluded with an amazing performance by Dutch actor Klaas Hofstra. In “Rembrandt: A Portrait,” Hofstra plays Rembrandt at the age of 63, telling us about his life, his paintings and the myths surrounding him. This show was written and performed first on the occasion of a major Rembrandt exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in 1992.
