MBA@Calvin and K4L partner on a networking night for local alumni and Calvin seniors
Tuesday, May 7, 2013 - 6 p.m.
Calvin's (106) Gallery
106 S Division Ave. in Grand Rapids
$5 per person
optional: sponsor a student's registration, too!
Dozens of Calvin graduating seniors have been invited to this special event to become acquainted with local Calvin alumni and to be introduced to "the Calvin network." The seniors are nominated for leadership and achievement during their student days and we expect them to be young alums who will make a mark for Calvin and the Kingdom.
You'll have the chance to network with other invited alumni, too, so this evening provides a double value! Hors d'oeuvres will be provided, and we'll have the chance to see art installations by senior art majors.
Mark your calendar for a one-day leadership event featuring world-renowned speakers addressing leadership issues that matter most. This live web broadcast will be shown at Calvin's Covenant Fine Arts Center on Friday, May 4, 8:00-4:30 p.m. Speakers include Coach Mike Krzyzewski, John Maxwell, Condoleezza Rice, Jack Welch, Sanya Richards-Ross and more. About Gilda's Club
Opened to the community in 2001, Gilda's Club supports children and adults and their families and friends that are on a cancer or grief journey. Gilda's Club Grand Rapids is currently the largest and busiest affiliate in a network of 52 affiliates across North America and reaches 10,000 people annually from 33 counties in Michigan.
In 2011, with the investments of many partners and collaborators in West Michigan, Gilda's Club launched Gilda's LaughFest, celebrating laughter for the health of it. The Festival, now in its third year, draws over 55,000 people from 25 States and Canada to our region in March and has a $2,000,000 impact on business and the West Michigan economy. The message behind the Festival—valuing laughter as an important part of good emotional health—has caught on locally, regionally and is reaching a national audience as well.
Join us for an informative look behind the scenes at the nation's only festival of laughter and, importantly, how Gilda's Club Grand Rapids is helping to transform the landscape of healthcare in our community.

Reflections on Returning to Grand Rapids
Mary Tuuk '86, president, Fifth Third - West Michigan, is back in Grand Rapids after spending 2003-2011 as a senior risk management professional at Fifth Third's Cincinnati headquarters. We'll hear about her professional journey as a Christian in banking and her observations about the financial climate of West Michigan as she gets started on her work here. What has changed in West Michigan in the last decade? What didn't? What's in store for us financially in the months ahead?
