Alumni Chapter Service Areas • Admissions

Chapters active in the admissions service area have some formal program in place for assisting Calvin's admissions office in recruiting college-bound students from the chapter's geographical region or interest area.

There is much that can be done to raise Calvin’s profile with prospective students and their families, from the elaborate to the simple and all are helpful:

Know a potential Calvin student?
Let us know via an online referral form.
  • Hosting receptions in alumni homes or at local restaurants for prospective students and their families
  • Gathering high school students together for a Fridays at Calvin visit through the “Group Visit” program (please see Group Visit Policy and Trip Planning Overview for details)
  • Encouraging local school guidance counselors to visit Calvin through a special once-a-year program offered by the admissions office
  • Making phone calls to prospective or admitted students in the chapter area
  • Hosting an event for prospective and current students over Christmas or spring break
  • Distributing Calvin information to churches, schools, media outlets and individuals
  • Representing Calvin at a college fair in your area
  • Encouraging ethnic-minority high school students to participate in the summer Entrada Scholars program
  • Coming up with your own unique "Calvin promotion" program!
