Scholarships
For many years, your generous chapter donations have allowed Southern California students to receive a scholarship to attend Calvin College.

This year, your contributions are helping defray $1,000 of tuition expenses for Lisa Szumiak, the recipient of our chapter’s Volunteerism Scholarship. Lisa was selected based on her commitment to service learning and a demonstrated love for Christ.

To contribute:
We would like to continue to offer scholarships to more Southern California students this year. To contribute, please mail your donation to: Sheri Admiraal, 10319 Park Street, Bellflower, CA 90706. Checks can be made payable to “Southern California Calvin College Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund.” You will be provided with a confirmation letter that can be used as your tax-deductible receipt. Your donations are voluntary and always appreciated.

To apply for a scholarship:
The scholarship application process begins in January each year. Selection criteria are based on volunteerism and service learning. For information or to obtain an application, contact Christine Koontz, our chapter’s Scholarship Coordinator.

Recruitment

Our chapter is involved in recruiting local students to attend Calvin College by hosting booths at local college fairs and promoting the “Fridays at Calvin” program.

Parents: Please note that Calvin College no longer offers partial airfare reimbursement for single-student visits to “Fridays at Calvin.” However, in Fall 2004, we hope to organize a “group trip” for juniors and seniors to attend a “Fridays at Calvin.” If enough students sign up, Calvin will help offset airfare expenses. Once we select a date, we will notify area high schools and guidance counselors. Stay tuned for more details.
