Glenn Bulthuis on tour!

Sept. 13, 2008: Glenn Bulthius, born and raised in California but more recently hailing from Michigan, will return to play a concert at San Jose Christian Reformed Church (5150 Camden Ave.).

The concert starts at 7:00 p.m., but appetizers will start at 6:30 p.m. Immediately following the concert, there will be a dessert/coffee reception and Glenn will sign his CDs.

Sept. 14, 2008: Glenn will lead worship at the morning service at San Jose Christian Reformed Church, 9:30 a.m.

Calvin professor Joy Bonnema will be in California January 7-14, 2007, to connect with churches, schools, alumni and friends, and future Calvin students.

Dr. Bonnema is a biology professor who has taught cell biology and genetics, immunology, human sexuality, and biology as a springboard for worship. She has also served as a mentor for the Barnabas Team. She is a Calvin alum who received her Ph.D. from Mayo Graduate School.

Calvin Alumni Chapter Scholarships - discontinued

• At least for now, we have decided to stop offering chapter scholarships. Recently our donations have been quite low which means we have a small amount of funds for this effort. We receive quite a large number of applicants and we just don’t feel like we can offer a meaningful amount to these very worthy candidates.

Fridays at Calvin Awards

• We did decide to continue to offer assistance for Fridays at Calvin at a level for which we hope we will receive sufficient donations.

• $75 of travel expenses will be reimbursed to Bay Area high school juniors or seniors who visit Calvin for Fridays at Calvin.

• Contact Mary Schrotenboer (mary@schrotenboer.com) for application forms or further information.

How YOU Can Help

• Encourage high school juniors and seniors you know to consider a Christ-centered, academically excellent education at Calvin College and pass on to them this information about Fridays at Calvin.
