Alumni Painting Exhibition

campus image

The "Alumni Painting Exhibition," which runs until February 18 in the Center Art Gallery, presents the work of 19 alumni artists that have used a variety of painting techniques and approaches.

You can be a part of this exhibit by voting for the People's Choice Award. You will need to visit the gallery to place a vote by 5 p.m., February 10. The award will be announced that evening, at 7:30 p.m., at an awards reception. Find out more, including the list of artists, information about the exhibit and beautiful gallery---which is now housed in the Covenant Fine Arts Center!

Also on exhibit right now is Mary Abma's, "In My Own Back Yard," which includes three projects: Herbarium, Lumen Prints, and Triptych Altarpiece. Included in these projects are the 82 species she identified in her backyard, which she then classfied, pressed, mounted and preserved in wax.

Rivalry time

The Calvin/Hope rivalry will again feature the popular satellite game on February 11, 2012, which showcases the men's varsity game. For "The Game," Calvin and Hope fans gather at a designated viewing location and enthusiastically cheer on their team. Take the whole family; there are over 70 sites confirmed so far! If your area doesn't have a site, consider hosting. It's easy and fun.

You can still participate in the new Beat Hope Challenge, a joint alumni giving initiative sponsored by Calvin and Hope. All annual fund gifts received before February 29, 2012 will be counted. Thank you!
