Steps to apply

In order to apply to Calvin, submit the following:

  • Completed online applicationincluding essays and application fee. For a paper application, contact us or print a .pdf.
  • High school transcript (.pdf) including:
    1. cumulative GPA
    2. course names and brief description of what was covered
    3. grades earned for each course
  • Academic recommendation, preferably from a non-family member. If your recommendation is written by a parent, we ask that you submit a second recommendation from someone such as an employer, pastor, or youth leader.
    1. Download the recommendation form as a .pdf.
    2. Submit the recommendation online with your application.
  • Test Scores from the SAT or ACT
  • Transcript(s) from any college(s) you previously attended. An official transcript is required for transfer credit evaluation.

Calvin College seeks students who will thrive in the academic, spiritual and community life at Calvin. If you are interested in an education that will challenge your mind and deepen your faith, we invite you to apply!  Of the students who submit an application, approximately 75% are accepted.

Completed applications are considered on a rolling basis until the deadlines below. For maximum scholarship consideration, apply by February 1.

Non-Degree Students applying for readmission or non-degree seeking students are admitted on a space-available basis until the first day of classes.

*We do not accept international applications mid-year unless you are an international student in the U.S. who is transferring to Calvin.
