As part of our continuing effort to upgrade Calvin's website, we're significantly enhancing the template's "header" and "footer" regions. This upgrade provides many benefits, including:

Six upgraded templates
Faster page displays
Simpler maintenance
Improved flexibility
Updating obsolete HTML code

All Calvin templates will receive an upgraded footer. The new footer is required due to enhancements made to Calvin's Web server. The bonus of all this work are six upgraded (and customizable) Calvin templates!

What do I need to do?

All you need to do is let us know that you want to upgrade your department's website. We will gladly do the work for free. It only takes a minute to sign-up!

How does this impact me?

After we've upgraded your department's template, you'll need to know:

The template's header and footer regions will no longer be visible.
Currently, when you're editing your web pages in Dreamweaver, you're able to see the "header" and "footer" tables. After the update, these will be replace with server-side includes (SSI) which are not visible by Dreamweaver. Instead, the Web server automatically includes them for your visitors.
Your website will have small text file named "configure.inc".
This small file customizes your department's template and is housed inside your website's folder on the W:drive.
