1. Are there regulations for starting an Organization?
Yes, in order to be a Calvin recognized organization, there are a few guidelines and responsibilites expected.

2. Who would we talk to about starting an organization?
Erin O'Connor-Garcia is the coordiator of Student Activities and Student Organizations. She would love for you to set up a meeting with her! Prepare to discuss ideas, a mission, goals, etc. Remember, there is a twelve member minimum so gauge interest for your organization beforehand.

3. Is there paperwork we need to fill out?
Yes, there are a few forms you will need to complete as you work through the chartering process. Be sure to include the following:
* a charter, including a thoughtful mission statement
* advisor consent form
* justified budget request

4. May we start at any time?
New student organizations are reviewed twice a year. Charters for new student organizations for the Fall 2008 semester are due to the Student Development office by Monday, April 7 . However, if you have an idea, just meet with Erin--stop by the Student Development Office in the Commons Annex and set up a time!
