Mission Statement:
Democracy Matters is a nation wide non-partisan organization that intends to inform and engage college students and communities in efforts to strengthen the United States democracy, with a focus on the issues of private money in politics and other pro-democracy reforms. The organization encourages the emergence of a new generation of reform-minded leaders. Democracy Matters emphasizes the importance of community activism. Socially conscious students and concerned citizens create a powerful force for deepening democracy. Democracy Matters programs nurture a lifelong commitment to civic action and social change. As Christians in a fallen world, it is our duty to educate ourselves about our society in order to be agents of renewal, committed to restoring a broken society by actively engaging in reforming the United States government.
