Each residence hall has built a lasting relationship with a local agency with which you can serve. The partnership is facilitated by two of your fellow sophomore residents called Community Partnership Coordinators (CPCs). Students and agency members work closely together to plan activities (both one-time and weekly) and ensure that both groups needs and expectations are being met.
CPCs also work with their residence hall's Community Life Council (CLC) to help coordinate other opportunities for service-learning, civic engagement, and social justice. These include participating in the ACCESS county-wide food drive each October, (re)Vision days, and the annual service auction to raise money for the hall's partner agency.Find your residence hall below to see who your hall is partnered with and who to contact to get involved.
Boer-Bennink
This is a privately funded library of the Grandville Avenue Arts & Humanities program that serves as an after school center for youth from nearby schools. Building relationships with the children is emphasized, so come read, play games, help with homework, and make new friends.
Bolt-Heyns-Timmer
This after school program is connected with Mosaic Life Church in the Southeast Academic Center. There are opportunities four days a week to spend time with the children of this community. Games, enrichment activities, and homework time all allow for the formation of good relationships with great kids.
Beets Veenstra
The HORIZONS program works with mentally impaired adolescents and adults by providing evening and weekend activities and programs, such as outings, games, activities, and parties.

Oakdale Neighbors is a Christian community development organization. Its goal is to create a neighborhood of grace and vitality by discovering, developing, and connecting skills and resources. We see ourselves as a community, building community, within a community.
Rooks-VanDellen
A longstanding partnership exists between Calvin and the Baxter Community Center. Help continue the tradition by lending a hand. This program provides daycare services to families in the neighborhood surrounding Baxter. The children are always eager to meet new Calvin students.

Roosevelt Park Community Church, a church whose many ministries are committed to racial, cultural and socio-economic diversity allows Schultze-Eldersvelt an opportunity to partner in both Kidpower, a midweek children's ministry, and English as a Second Language classes.
SE travels to Roosevelt Park Community CRC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We meet in the lobby at 4:30p.m. and return to campus around 7:00p.m. Kidpower takes place on Wednesday nights from 6:15p.m. to 8:00p.m.

North End Community Ministry's NE Supper House program offers a hot meal to 80-120 families every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Come to help in the kitchen, serve the meal, do crafts with kids, or simply enjoy fellowship over a meal with the families who attend.
