Welcome to International Passport for Families

Welcome to International PASSPORT for Families!

International PASSPORT is a five-day program designed for you as an adult family member and your new student. It takes place just before the school year begins. International PASSPORT eases your student’s transition to North American culture and introduces you to Calvin through seminars, tours and discussion.

At International PASSPORT you will:

  • Learn about what Calvin does to ensure students’ academic success
  • Learn about services the college provides, including how Calvin communicates with parents
  • Become familiar with the college’s vision and curriculum
  • Attend a variety of interesting workshops and model classes
  • Meet other family members and examine what this time of transition means for you as a family

How to Register

We would like to invite you to join your new Calvin student by participating in the International PASSPORT program, August 29 – September 1. In addition, we would like to encourage you to attend PASSPORT IV, September 1 – 3, the last of our summer PASSPORT sessions.

  • Students register online for International PASSPORT. When they register themselves, they can also register you and any additional family members.
    • We welcome all family members to PASSPORT, but please note the program is designed for adults. Younger family members are welcome to accompany parents, but we are unable to provide programming for them.
  • A $275 orientation fee will be charged to your student’s account in early September. This fee covers your student's orientation. Up to two adult family members can attend for $50/ person. Each additional family member is $100.

Accommodations

Parents, we have held a block of rooms at the on-campus Prince Conference Center for your stay during International PASSPORT for a fee. When you call the Conference Center to reserve a room, mention you are here for International PASSPORT. Also there are serveral off-campus options.
