Your Kind of Love

Gynocrat is an extension of a project recorded in Chicago under the name Planetary Nightmare. While developing songs for Planetary Nightmare on a laptop, Grant Elgersma started using a gender-bending vocal effect that allowed him to expand the range of his musical personality. Over time, a collection of songs emerged from this musical out-of-body experience. In “Lab Cat,” Gynocrat sings about a man’s power and the death of God from the perspective of a laboratory animal. “Your Kind of Love” offers a meditation on fleeting attempts at eternal love. These songs and more will be featured on the Gynocracy EP, available in the summer of 2011.
