Matthew Carrillo-Vincent
After graduating from New York University's MA program in Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Thought, Matthew Carrillo-Vincent began work as a doctoral student in English and Gender Studies at the University of Southern California. He is currently interested in masculinity, sentimentality and popular music, with a particular focus on Romanticism and emo music subcultures. Caught somewhere between a long history of Catholic education and a concern for the politics of race, sex, class and gender in popular culture, Matt is still trying to make, as it were, his own negotiations.
