Vic Chesnutt
Vic Chesnutt started writing songs when he was five years old and started releasing albums in 1990 after being spotted by Michael Stipe of R.E.M performing at the 40 Watt Club, a music venue in their mutual hometown of Athens, Georgia. An independent singer-songwriter, Chesnutt is also a frequent collaborator, working with the band Lambchop and artists such as Bill Frisell, David Bazan and his wife Tina Chesnutt, who often plays bass on his albums. Chesnutt’s most recent album, 2008’s Dark Developments, is a collaboration with Athens locals Elf Power and The Amorphous Strums.
